Martha Stewart at Kmart

I've been searching for reasonably priced window panels for almost every room in the house. After stalking some PB ones on eBay, I turned to other retailers. As I mentioned earlier, I found some nice options at J C Penney. On a whim, I stopped in the Kmart new our house. (I haven't been in a Kmart in years. Not because I am snobby but there wasn't one near us in the Bay Area). I found these Martha Stewart linen-like panels for the 2 master bedroom windows. At $20 a pop, you can't go wrong!

More Living Room Changes

I hung a selection of our dog painting collection over the credenza. I need to get a few others re-framed before I hang them. I also hung drapes and took town the ugly plastic plantation blinds. From here the drapes look like silk but they are poly from JC Penney! I was surprised to find them; glad I didn't buy the Pottery barn ones I was eyeing on eBay.

I limited myself to one item so I chose this milk crate to hold magazines. All the stuff is so cute but I don't need one more dish, cup or dishtowel!

Grandma opening - socks, maybe?

Today is their 60th wedding anniversary. My grandparents have been the best. They have been there for every birthday, summer vacation, holiday and graduation. Some of my best childhood memories involve our yearly summer trips to Disneyland. They have always made my brother and I feel loved and special. I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life.

Walls painted 'Milk Toast' (Martha Stewart). Yellow Hollywood Regency-esque credenza, old beige Pier 1 Sofa, thrifted lemon yellow chairs, rug from Macy*s, brown cabinet from yard sale ($3!) Lamps are from Target's recent home design event. Yellow ottoman from church rummage sale.

The louvered slats will be going at some point to open up the space. We just need to figure out how to take them down without doing major damage!

One of the famous San Francisco Painted Ladies on Steiner St. is for sale. The interiors scare me a bit. I can't imagine the dusting that place would require.
