Blonde on Blonde

My awesome new dining table. Jake spied this at the Dorcas Thrift near our place and I knew it had to be mine. It has three!! leaves so it expands to a ridiculous size and it's in almost perfect shape. $75, baby!

The chairs are from our vintage cherries set as we don't have any yet that will match compliment the table. I am thinking a run to the Charlotte IKEA is in the cards this summer.

There's the rug I posted about earlier in the week. Now that it's in the room, it's waaayyy to much beige. I guess it will move to the guest room and the hunt for a dining room rug is back on. I need some color in that room...

theoretical retail therapy

I need something to wear to the April wedding we're attending in RI. I haven't been clothes shopping in ages so I think a quick spin 'round the mall is in the cards for the weekend. Not that I should be spending any money but sometimes I can spy perfect bargains that can't be passed up.

Never Pay Retail

Excuse my junky photoshop crop but I had to brag about my deal of the day! I've been looking and looking for a rug for the dining room. We have wood floors and I know they are going to get scratched to hell without a rug. I wanted an 8 x 10 so there is plenty of space to pull out a chair but keep the feet on the rug. 8 x 10 rugs are expensive! I found this on The Company Store website for $60! I got the powder color. Can't wait til it's delivered and the dining room will be one step closer to done.

At Kate Spade stores. I'm sure it will be a madhouse and you have to buy product to get a photo but he's one of my fave "celebs" out there right now. For all his success, he seems like a genuinely sweet guy!

Dining Room wall

Ugh - this project turned into a pain in the neck. The chains are not totally straight and the paint bled under the tape. I'm going to try to fix it but it may not work so well. i am so impatient, I should have waited before I started to paint! Stay tuned to see if I fix it or just scrap it altogether.

My Saturday was consumed with this job. This is an open wall in the dining room that needed something. I was originally going to do stripes but I quickly discovered that stripes are really really hard to get straight so I decided to go for an easier to tape pattern. I like it! I ran out of tape yesterday so today I will grab more and finish it off.
