Dining Room wall

Ugh - this project turned into a pain in the neck. The chains are not totally straight and the paint bled under the tape. I'm going to try to fix it but it may not work so well. i am so impatient, I should have waited before I started to paint! Stay tuned to see if I fix it or just scrap it altogether.

Walls painted 'Milk Toast' (Martha Stewart). Yellow Hollywood Regency-esque credenza, old beige Pier 1 Sofa, thrifted lemon yellow chairs, rug from Macy*s, brown cabinet from yard sale ($3!) Lamps are from Target's recent home design event. Yellow ottoman from church rummage sale.

The louvered slats will be going at some point to open up the space. We just need to figure out how to take them down without doing major damage!

RIP Domino

I am very sad to learn that Domino is ceasing publication after the March issue. I really enjoyed it each month. Much of their items are out of my reach for budgetary reasons but it's a great source of inspiration.

New Furniture for Casa Hampton Valley

I came across this awesome china cabinet and matching buffet and mirror at a consignment store in Cary. Both were on sale so I went ahead and bought them! It has a bit of a glam/Hollywood Regency look to it. Not sure what kind of dining set will match...but I'll keep my eyes peeled!

We're counting down to our closing date (Jan 26th!!) and my mind is filled with ideas and possibilities for our house. Apartment Therapy is one of my major sources for inspiration. From there, I came across this awesome Chicag0 shop, The White Attic, is filled with the very items I'd love to incorporate into my home. A little 70's, a little mid-century modern. I especially love the chain-link print fabric on those arm chairs.
