I'm a NC transplant from the sunny climes of California. My husband and I bought a 1960's split level outside Raleigh, NC and we're slowly fixing + decorating our little hearts out.
This book of palms looks lovely. TASCHEN books, as a whole, are quite well-done and their price tag reflects that. At nearly $100, it's a little steep but the frameable art possibilities, if you can bring yourself to destroy the book, are endless.
It is so true, some books make incredible framable art. Way back I posted about the book Cabinet of Natural Curiosities where the winner of the Idea House 2008 took the pages and recreated the art in the bedroom (which was not included in the price). Below is the link, in case you want to check it out.

I was just look at this book; I can imagine how perfect it would look displayed on a coffee table or book case too. So many options!
